As the goals of the building industry are shifting, the standards by which buildings are judged are changing as well. In addition to the current green construction standards focusing on building material content and energy efficiency, increased emphasis is being placed on the environmental impact of products from source to delivery. A reduction in overall energy consumption and emission of greenhouse gases is an additional focus. GreenWizard is committed to providing tools for the ever-changing green market and now allows you to present this vital Lifecycle Impact (LCI) data within our platform.
Why is life-cycle analysis data important?
- Design and Construction professionals are looking beyond LEED V3 and preparing for LEED V4, 2030 Challenge for Products, 2030 Commitment and more. GreenWizard’s partnerships with these organizations and others provide us unique insight into new systems of measurement and future direction. GreenWizard can now present and deliver LCA/EPD data like no one else in the market, and we are preparing to roll out more capabilities soon using this data.
- Current LEED Pilot Credits and upcoming LEED V4 plans will require more data and documentation than ever before. Additional MR LEED Credits may be captured by supplying additional granular product detail and documentation. This means that your customers will be looking for this product documentation and data in GreenWizard as they specify, evaluate, and submit products for credit or certification.
As a manufacturer with a listing on GreenWizard, we now give you the ability to add your life cycle analysis data into trackable data fields. This allows project architects to filter search results based on that data and find your products more quickly and efficiently.
How Can I Get My LCI Information Properly Represented?
In order to add this data, you should login to your GreenWizard account and click the Products tab on the dashboard. If you do not have an account it is easy to create one. Once at the dashboard, click the Edit Product drop down to the right of each product. Then click the Lifecycle Impact link.
The following page will track any existing life-cycle data that has been input for that product. Click the Add a Lifecycle Impact assessment button.
The next page will allow you to add data specific to the product you are updating. Be sure to use the drop down boxes to change to assessment method or the measurement for the results as they pertain to this product.
When you have entered this data, click the save button and your life-cycle information will be added to your listing. For a quick view of this information as it will appear to a project architect, go back to the List Products tab and click in Search Results under the Preview Display drop down.
That is it!
So if you are a manufacturer with a product that helps to reduce the footprint of a building, data and documentation are key to your success in the world of changing standards. GreenWizard is making the management of this data and documentation easier than ever before.
